CO-62 BOOSTERS Reference Page

The CO-062 Nighthawk Boosters are a group of parents and adults who recognize the value of the Air Force Junior Reserve
Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) program at Hidden Lake High School in Westminster, Colorado.

The goal of the Nighthawk Boosters is to help provide additional funding, support and resources, and assist the assigned
professional instructors in developing CO-062 AFJROTC cadets into exemplary leaders and citizens.

An important aspect of the booster/parent organization is to maintain timely and informative communications regarding
events and opportunities in order for parents to be more closely involved with the cadet organization.  An e-mail and
telephone contact sheet will be maintained and frequently utilized.

Typical support functions of the Nighthawk Boosters could include:

        Assisting the AFJROTC program’s  instructors (SASI, ASI) with activities outside their normal responsibilities.
        Volunteering to work at fundraising events.
        Provide chaperon functions for Unit events, trips and activities.
        Assist cadet staff in organizing and implementing additional fundraising efforts (carwashes, concession stands, etc).
        Organize and support community service projects in conjunction with cadet staff.
        Provide adult planning and chaperone assistance for Unit social events and the Military Ball.
        Provide meals and/or refreshments for Cadets when requested (i.e. Unit Fun Day, Drill Team extended practices, etc.)
        Solicit tax-deductible donations from community businesses and entities.
        Support the mission of AFJROTC CO-062 by being a advocate of the program (i.e. letters, visits, press releases) with
community members/leaders, school officials, and the local media.
